Let’s stack!

Daily stacking is the practice of combining several habits or activities into a daily routine or schedule. It’s an optimization strategy I think may help me bring some structure to my life and habits from the perspective of good health. When you stack, you add structure. When you add structure, you reduce decision fatigue and improve flow throughout the day. It’s organization on steroids. Ultimately, daily stacking is about intentional planning and organization to make the most of your time and energy, leading to greater productivity and overall wellbeing.
An example of stacking might be a morning routine that includes daily pages, meditation, exercise, and a healthy breakfast – all done in a well thought out sequence. This kind of consistency can help set a positive tone for the day ahead.
My daily stacks
Be serious, I don’t do this! Tsk! I’m a disorganized mess! But damn, that sure sounds fine, doesn’t it?! OK, OK, I’m not always a disorganized mess. In fact, I can be a queen at organizing things and myself. I have had great success in the past being on top of my habits and goals. But I wax and wane. Mostly wane. Or is it wax? Whatever, I wax and wane. When I think back to my success being on top of my habits, though? Pure pleasure and joy. I’m going back to that place! Here are some areas where I’ll begin:
- Morning routine
- Vitamin and supplement regimen
- Sleep routine
- Clean home
What about other aspects of life?
I think these should not get caught up in daily stack thinking. These are more organic and interesting. They’re not things that should land on checklists. I’ll talk about these concepts, too, just not in the context of daily stacks.
- Social life
- Professional life
- Learning life
- Spiritual life
