Well hello!
If you’re optimistic, sorta, you’re in the right place.
This is my personal health project.
If you’re a woman (or man or both or neither) dealing with a myriad of confusing health issues and you just don’t know where to begin, I hope I can share some of my optimism with you and inspire you to embark on your own health project.
First of all, I’m Elisabeth. If you’ve never been here before, you should probably head on over to About. This will give you a pretty strong idea of what I’ll be going on about on this site.
I’ve only just started, so material is pretty slim right now. Over time, I will share a lot of details about my health – good, bad, and ugly. But hopefully not too ugly, yikes.
A kind of site map
I suspect things are gonna be perpetually messy up in here. Consider the mess an homage to how my brain works and how my house looks (nah, not really, my house isn’t THIS bad!). Here are the major sections on the site and what you will find there, along with a couple of future areas.

The Lab
The place where I put all my ideas no matter how woo woo
- Contains the “big gnarly list”
- Explains what I’m trying right now and how I’m carrying out the test
- Research to back me up, if available
- Results (which may be linked to all my record keeping somehow)
Daily Stacks
Keeping records, as best I can, of what I’m trying in my life
- Data tables filled in with checks or possibly scanned pages at the end of every month
- Things like my vitamin intake, writing habits, meditation, pain charts, symptom tracking, food intake
- To help me remember what I’ve tried and to make sure I really gave it a good try (I was consistent and I used a product or modality long enough)
Everything
Capturing the bits and bobs I read that my be helpful to my recovery
- It’s a knowledge base, folks!
The Blog
The obligatory blawg. Written quickly and without proofreading.
- This site will be a combination of blog posts, pages, and wikis
Digital Garden
To be explored in the future
- I just started writing in my own person digital garden and may publish it one day
Results
To be explored in the future
- Results of all my little experiments, including lab and other test results
- Objective data and subjective experiences
- I need to know what’s working and what’s not working!
Expect a lot of changes

Blog sites tend to be linear in nature. This is a limitation I’m still struggling with. I’m going to see just how far I can push and stretch this structure to fit my purposes – which is to record, collect, and connect.
I’ll start by not treating the published blog post as locked in. I’ll update them and re-publish them if it makes sense (new date and all). I’ve got a wiki idea going; let’s see how that works for collecting ideas and research. More ways of expressing my collections and ideas will be forthcoming (mind maps? timelines? visual representations of health?).
In short, expect things to constantly change and move around. It’ll be like a nightmare grocery store that re-arranges its aisles every week. You’re good with that, right?
For whom am I writing this?
Mostly me. Sorry reader, but I didn’t overthink about you when I put this site together or considered what I would or would not put here. If you relate, that’s fucking exciting! We’ll connect on these pages then. I can’t wait to meet you.
Welcome to my tangled mess.
